SUPPLY Stories is a new documentary series from EDWIN exploring the people shaping contemporary Japanese culture.
Musicians, artists, designers and creatives whose work exists beyond easy definition. Rather than documenting finished careers, the series looks at the places, communities and experiences that continue to inform their practice.

The first chapter follows Yokohama rapper ralph whose uncompromising approach has made him one of the most distinctive voices in Japanese rap. Since emerging in 2017, he has built a sound that draws equally from UK Grime, Drill and Japan's own rap tradition. Heavy bass, sharp lyricism and an unmistakable delivery have become his signature, but his story begins long before the studio.

Ahead of his European festival debut at Outlook Origins, BORN DIFFERENT traces the influences that shaped ralph's world. From growing up around Yokohama's sound system culture and discovering bass music through Mighty Crown, to rethinking what rap can become in Japan, the film explores an artist who has always existed between scenes rather than within them.
This is not a story about fitting in. It is about building something of your own.

Supply Stories: BORN DIFFERENT featuring ralph is the first edition of an ongoing series documenting the people redefining contemporary Japan, one story at a time.
