Majocchi

TIE DYE

For Spring/Summer 2021, EDWIN utilise the research and innovation expertise of specialist Italian fabric mill, Majocchi, making use of their Cotton Nylon Ripstop with an iridescent tie-dye effect, reinforced with a durable ripstop structure and a water-repellent treatment.

To introduce the unique fabric we enlisted the help of Athens-based Hip-Hop artist, Kareem Kalokoh and musician and creative, Complex Shadow to take the collection for a test drive.

The military-inspired capsule consists of a hooded jacket, patch pocket shirt, utilitarian vest, cargo pant and relaxed-fitting shorts, providing the perfect combination of resistance, comfort, performance and style, all guaranteed by the ‘Majotech’ label on each garment.

With a ready to dye base, the fabric is treated with a particular dyeing technique that is able to create a tie-dye effect on the entire roll.

Available now at EDWIN Stores, selected retailers and Online.

Athens born and raised hip hop artist, Kareem Kalokoh is a member and co-founder of the “ATH KIDS” collective. He started creating music at the age of 17 after he decided to drop out of high school and work his way into the hip hop echelon.

Kareem’s first EP released on Soundcloud titled “ATH2090s” pays homage to his hometown of Athens, creating his own unique world alongside his partner and co-founder of the “ATH KIDS” Valentin Rivera. Their new street Athenian perspective, portrayed through music and visuals was enough to capture Kareem's initial audience with heavy-hitting anthems like “OTAM” and “New Flame”, creating a vibrant buzz in the city.

His debut album titled “CONGO” includes fan favourites such as “Whip Game” landing him a spot on the YouTube channel COLORS as the only artist from Greece to ever do so. Kareem continued his album tour with shows in France, Germany, the USA, the UK and the Netherlands.

Complex Shadow is a musician and creative also based in Athens, working within the music industry to create shows and special events. With over 10 years of experience working in the music world as a consultant for special projects, he has also managed to find time to nurture his own sound within the ATH KIDS Collective and experiment with different styles of music.
