Some garments are designed for a season. Others spend decades proving why they still belong. For Autumn/Winter 2026, EDWIN and SPIEWAK come together through a shared belief that good design begins with purpose.

Founded in New York in 1904, SPIEWAK built its reputation producing hard-wearing garments for workers and public services, creating outerwear that earned its place through durability rather than decoration. From the streets of New York to the decks of U.S. Navy vessels, its garments were made to withstand time, weather and daily use.

Across the Pacific, EDWIN approached clothing from a different perspective. Since 1961, Japanese craftsmanship, denim innovation and an uncompromising attention to fabric have defined the brand's identity. Where SPIEWAK mastered protection, EDWIN refined the material itself.

The collaboration sits naturally between these two histories. New York and Tokyo are cities built on movement. One grew around industry, workwear and utility. The other transformed functional American garments into enduring icons of everyday style, reinterpreting them through Japanese craftsmanship and an obsession with detail. Both understand that the best clothing is never static. It evolves through the people who wear it.

Rather than reinventing SPIEWAK's archive, the collection builds on what already exists. The N-1 Deck Jacket returns in heavyweight cotton jungle cloth, honouring one of the longest-serving jackets in U.S. Navy history. Alongside it, the N-3B Snorkel Parka revisits another functional classic in durable nylon twill, while EDWIN contributes its Made in Japan Loose Fit, produced from 13.5oz Kaihara Pure Indigo Selvedge denim, available in both a clean rinse and a repaired dark used wash. Together, the collection brings American outerwear and Japanese denim craftsmanship into the same conversation.

Branding is treated with the same restraint as the garments themselves. A co-branded patch and SPIEWAK's signature yellow stitching subtly distinguish the Made in Japan denim, while the N-3B Snorkel Parka carries both brands on a pair of woven sleeve labels. The N-1 Deck Jacket takes a different approach, combining the EDWIN and SPIEWAK logos within a specially developed Rising Sun graphic, a quiet reference to the collaboration's connection between New York and Tokyo.

Neither brand is interested in nostalgia for its own sake. What connects them is a respect for garments that improve through wear, construction that rewards longevity and materials chosen to outlast trends.

More than a collaboration, EDWIN x SPIEWAK is a conversation between two cities, two traditions and two ways of thinking about clothing. One built to protect. One built to endure. Together, built to last.
