For EDWIN this month, Bruce has managed to find time to prepare a slow, experimental mix whilst on tour in Tokyo, New York and Berlin, bringing together a thrilling story-arc of dark fragmented post-modern sounds, that he calls "Bruce's Starless Night Mix".

FROM BRISTOL WITH LOVE...

Since 2014, British DJ and producer Larry McCarthy aka Bruce has created postmodern rhythmic drama at the burning intersection of UK dance music, operating at all speeds without any predictable formula.

So far, he has released his digitally generated cyber music on several highly acclaimed labels. His first release was the abstract techno 12inch "Not Stochastic" on Hessel Audio, the fearless electronic imprint run by Pearson Sound, Pangaea and Ben UFO. Since then he continued his mission and twisted the digital dance music culture with more engaging, fierce EP's on labels like the Bristol-based imprints Dnuos Ytivil, Ilde Hands and Timedance and UK producer Untold’s Hemlock Recordings.

In 2018 he finally dropped his first album "Sonder Somatic" on Hessel Audio. It delivers a haunting dance of flexible techno-not-techno tunes that melts R&B vocals, broken drum patterns, warped chords and deep digital sound spheres into an absorbing maelstrom that works for both clubs and head phone aficionados.

"This mix is about death, anxiety and the fragility of the human condition. It was recorded at 11.30pm on 15th May 2019 at the Noods Radio Studio in Bristol on two Pioneer CDJs, two Technics turntables and a Pioneer mixer."
