For Spring/Summer 2017, EDWIN shifts the focus back to the brand’s DNA, remixing and refreshing traditional denim silhouettes, alongside workwear and military inspired pieces, including West Coast styles, sun bleached colours, damaged and distressed denim and rebellious graphic prints.
Evergreen military styles are showcased in lightweight, cotton ripstop, updating the iconic MA1 Flight Jacket and M-65 Field Jacket in true ‘souvenir style’ with the ironic ‘Win Some, Lose Some’ slogan and classic Vietnam Tiger embroidery.
The allover jungle print completes the ripstop programme with the introduction of the short sleeve Nimes Shirt and Labour Short combination.
This season’s surplus-inspired story is complemented by a traditional Oxford Cadet Shirt and poplin Corporal Field Shirt, accompanied by classic Chino pants in a palette of black, olive, navy and stone beige.
Sun soaked colours and bleached out denim takes centre stage for the new season, featuring skate inspired, chain-stitched Coach Jackets alongside the all new, cropped ED-30, classic 55 Chino and Rail Short Bermuda.
The garage-style Capitol Jacket with ‘So Far, So Good’ embroidery is teamed up with the oversized, chain-stitched bowling shirts, sun bleached pastel sweats and border stripe Flipper Polo for a contemporary 50’s hipster look.
Updating EDWIN’s Japanese heritage and brand DNA, they introduce four new denim jacket styles in both premium selvage and non-selvage qualities, alongside a reinforced programme of shirts to strengthen the collection for Spring/Summer 2017.
The seasonal 5-pocket highlight comes in the form of the new ED-30 silhouette with a straight leg, high rise and cropped inseam. A modern version of the iconic Nashville, available in 12oz Japan cotton denim and Tuscan PFD options.
Making a strong and youthful visual statement, the contemporary Acid wash programme inspired by the early 90’s rave scene makes use of EDWIN’s ‘63 Rainbow Listed Japanese Selvage Denim in both the E-Classic Trucker Jacket and the loose fitting ED-45.
Heavy distressed, patched and repaired denim is nicely juxtaposed with an assortment of textures including heavy slub indigo, chambray and soft tailored herringbone twill for a relaxed, modern-vintage feel.
The expansion of the seasonal Indigo Line see a more sophisticated direction for the collection, including the Palm and Bandana vacation print story that features alongside workwear referenced jackets, pants and shorts in heavy slub texture and herringbone twill plains.
Sportswear-inspired pieces are also available in the softest IndigoTerry, accompanied by elevated basics to complete the indigo capsule.
The solid visual aesthetic of the collection comes courtesy of reworked logos, youthful and rebellious imagery and tongue in cheek, Japanese avoured graphics, adding both humour and personality to this season’s print collection.
