EDWIN X MO CHARA - ''it just looked too good to keep for ourselves”.

Mo Chara meaning ‘my friend’ in Irish, is a neighbourhood pub in Dundalk built on the concept of friendship and re-creating the Irish public house as a space for the community.

In the spirit of true friendship, they reached out to their neighbours at Tony McDonnell who are celebrating 60 years in business, to create their very own custom EDWIN uniform. The initial idea was to create a bespoke uniform for their staff but then they thought ''it just looked too good to keep for ourselves”.

Now all in their late twenties, it was almost three years ago that the Mo Chara lads took on opening their very own community-led pub. Since then, they’ve launched their own beer, won a couple of awards and generally been known to cause a bit of a stir most recently with their collaboration with New Balance last year to release a jersey.

Their vision was to bring life back to one of Dundalk’s oldest and most beautiful listed buildings by creating an inviting cafe-bar-style atmosphere where everyone felt at home. Whether it’s Neapolitan-style pizza and pints in the evening or coffee and sambos by day, the lads champion quality locally sourced ingredients.
