The rhinoceros beetle, known as Kabutomushi (かぶとむし) in Japan, carries deep symbolic meaning, representing strength, power, and perseverance.
Welcoming the iconic mini-beast to the Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection, the Kabutomushi stands as a symbol of pride, resilience, and cultural identity, intricately linked to Japanese tradition.
The name Kabutomushi comes from kabuto, meaning "helmet," a nod to the samurai helmet that embodies the warrior spirit. Combined with mushi, meaning "insect," the name reflects strength and determination.
In modern Japanese culture, the beetle features prominently in anime, television, and film, representing an enduring symbol of tradition and national identity.
Emphasising Japan’s profound respect for its heritage, we introduce the Kabutomushi this season across printed tees, jackets, knitwear, and sweats.
