Accessibility Statement
EDWIN Europe is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve usability for all and apply the relevant standards (WCAG 2.2, BITV and the EN 301 549 standard) for accessibility. This digital accessibility statement applies to the EDWIN Europe website published at https://www.edwin-europe.com/.
Status of compatibility with the requirements
This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. We are continuously working to further improve accessibility.
Non-accessible content
The following content and functions of the website are currently not, or only partially, accessible:
- Alternative texts for images and graphics
Linked logos and images sometimes lack descriptive alternative texts. Decorative graphics are not always correctly marked as such. Product images, color swatches, and icons (e.g., wishlist) are not always provided with alternative texts that describe their purpose and function. - Videos
Videos without audio tracks are not always marked as decorative. Subtitles, audio descriptions, or alternative text descriptions are sometimes missing for videos with audio. - Forms and input fields
Input fields (e.g., for newsletters or checkout) are not always labeled with a <label> element. The input type is not always clearly defined. Some forms are missing the autocomplete attribute. After successful login or order submission, no screen reader message is issued. Error messages are not always sufficiently specific. - Keyboard operability and focus
Some interactive elements (e.g., main navigation, filters, product tiles, accordions) are not fully operable by keyboard or do not receive visible focus. The tab order is not always logical and sequential after certain actions (e.g., search). Navigation elements are not always reachable in a logical order via the Tab key. It is not possible to close dropdown menus using the Escape key. "Skip to content" links are missing. - Contrast and readability
Partially insufficient color contrasts. When zoomed to 200%, content may overlap, making it harder to read. - Redundant or unclear links
Linked images are not always recognizable as links. Some images and headings lead to the same target link. - Operation of banners and animated content
Text banners cannot be paused, stopped, or slowed down. - Size of interactive targets
Social media icons in the footer are smaller than the recommended minimum size of 24 x 24 pixels. - Selection options and visual cues
Selection options (e.g., width & length for products) are not always labeled. Unavailable sizes are indicated only by color. Focus is not visible, and elements cannot be controlled via keyboard. - Accordions and collapsible content
It is not always clear that an element is an accordion or that content can be collapsed. Relevant icons and visible controls are missing.
